Proportional scale conversion

For GPA records, the formula is target estimate = reported value ÷ source maximum × target maximum.

Inputs must be finite numbers, maximums must be greater than zero, and the reported value cannot be negative or exceed the source maximum. Results display to two decimals while calculations retain full browser precision.

Course GPA

The course worksheet maps letter grades to points, multiplies points by credits, sums quality points and divides by total credits. The default plus/minus table is visible. Honors adds 0.5 and AP/IB adds 1.0 for the displayed weighted comparison, capped at 5.0.

Percentage bands

For GPA records, the number-to-letter tool uses the published common U.S. bands shown on the page. It does not silently substitute those bands for a proportional conversion; the percentage page shows both answers when relevant.

Limitations

The site does not authenticate transcripts, infer weighting from an aggregate GPA, reproduce country-specific credential evaluations, predict admission, or replace the receiving institution's rules.

Official instructions always take priority. The GPA label stays explicit in this method record.

Quality checks

For GPA records, boundary cases cover zero, scale maximums, invalid values, plus/minus thresholds, credit weighting and repeated recalculation after rows are added or removed. Static QA also checks metadata, schema, internal links, sitemaps and page-level evidence notes.

Release evidence

Each release records the build date, page catalog, keyword-cluster map, static test result, and browser test result. The GPA formulas are tested with valid, boundary, and invalid inputs before deployment. Production checks then confirm HTTPS, redirects, status codes, canonicals, and live calculator behavior.
