The formula
For a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale, 3.2 ÷ 4.0 × 100 = 80%.
The tool allows other source maximums, but the same limitation applies: institutional grade bands may not be linear. The GPA label stays explicit in this method record.

Why familiar letter bands may disagree
For GPA records, a common U.S. table can assign 80% to a B- range, while a proportional 3.2/4.0 result is 80%. Those numbers look aligned in this example but diverge elsewhere because grade bands are stepped rather than continuous.
Use the requested method
Scholarship, admissions and employment forms may specify whether they want a native GPA, a percentage, or a credential evaluation. A convenient conversion should not replace those instructions. The final GPA note retains this method context.
